Lasagna

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or sausage
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 2 garlic, minced
- 40 ounces tomato sauce (or 24 oz sauce + 16 oz canned tomatoes)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2-1 pound mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 8 lasagna noodles
- 15 ounce Ricotta Cheese or Cottage Cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
Preparation
Step 1
Brown beef, onion, and garlic. Drain grease.
Add tomato sauce and seasonings. Simmer on stove 1 1/2 hours, covered.
Cook noodles. Rinse in cold water, drain.
Layer in 9x13 pan:
1/3 sauce (2 cups)
1/2 noodles
1/2 ricotta
1/2 parmesan
1/3 mozzarella
Repeat layer. Top with 1/3 sauce & 1/3 mozzarella.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Note: You may use uncooked noodles. In that case, Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes. Remove foil and bake 10-15 minutes longer. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
