Ingredients
- 1-1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter chilled and cut up
- 4-5 tablespoons ice water
Preparation
Step 1
In medium bowl, stir together flour and salt. With pastry blended or 2 knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs with some pea-sized pieces. Add 3 tablespoons of the water, stir until dough begins to form, adding additional water, 1 teaspoon at a time if necessary. Shape into flat round, cover and refrigerate 1 hour or freeze 15 minutes. On lightly floured surface, rool dough into 12” round.
