Tomato Sauce For Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 bay leaf

Preparation

Step 1

Brown ground beef with onion, celery and garlic in olive oil. Add tomato sauce and paste, stir. Add seasonings, stir. Bring to a low boil. Turn heat down to low and allow to simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours stirring frequently. Serve over spaghetti or mostaccioli.
