Ingredients
- 2-3 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 2-4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup cashews, broken
- 2-4 Tbsp butter, if needed
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1-2 tsp salt, to taste
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- (1/2 tsp accent- in original recipe, we usually leave it out)
- 26 ounce cream of mushroom soup (or 3 small cans)
- 1 pint sour cream (2 cups)
- rice, cooked
Preparation
Step 1
Saute beef & onion.
Stir in everything except soup & sour cream. Turn burner down, saute 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add Soup, simmer uncovered 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in Sour Cream.
Serve on rice (or potatoes or noodles)
Replacement for canned cream soup- make cream sauce out of:
6 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup flour or 1/4 cup cornstarch
3 cups liquid (chicken broth + milk)
1/2 to 1 tsp salt, to taste
**Makes equivalent of 3 cans soup.
