  • 2 c. milk (scalded)
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 14 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 8 c sifted flour
  • Walnut filling
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 lb walnuts ground
  • 1/2 sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. honey

Preparation

Step 1

Dough
Saften yeast in water combine hot mild salt sugar and butter blend thoughly. Cool to lukewarm add eggs and yeast. blend thouroughly. Sift 6 cups of flour into large bowl. Gradually add mikl mixture beating vigorously Gradually add remaingin 2 coups of flour or enought to make a soft dough Place on well floured board and knead 15 to 20 min. Place in greased bowl cover withe damp cloth Let rise in warm place until dough doubles. Cover a tabelwith cloth pull dough paper thin spread with filling
Filling
Scald mild over low heat in heavy pan Be sure pan is heavy as will burn easily Add nuts. let mixtue come to boil stiring constantly add huny sugar blend thoughtly gradually add to milk mixture stiring Cool
Roll and let rise until double in bulk Bake 350 for 1 hr
