Peanut Brittle

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. white Karo syrup
  • 2 c. peanuts
  • 2 tsp. Soda
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 T. butter

Preparation

Step 1

Cook sugar, water, and syrup to 238 degrees. Add peanuts and cook to 310, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add soda, vanilla, and butter. Mix well and spread immediately on to cookie sheet. After it has cooled, using to butter knives, break into pieces, by tapping the handle of one knife onto the back of the other knife.
