Ingredients
- 3/4 cup shortening (white Crisco)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp salt

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
beat by hand the first 4 ingredients until creamed, mix all your dry ingredients in a separate bowl and then combine with the wet ingredients. Chill dough, once chilled rough into 1 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet, bake 8-10 minutes
