Butter Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. 4 ounces granulated sugar
  • 1 lb sweet butter
  • 1 lb. shortening
  • 18 whole eggs
  • 3 lbs. 4ounces flour
  • 3 ounces baking powder
  • 1 litre of milk
  • 1 tbs. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter, shortening and sugar together very well.

Sift flour and baking powder together.

Mix the milk and vanilla-then gently mix them in the creamed mix and mix until smooth.

Pour mixture into pans and bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes.
