  • 2 lb ground chuck
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can Rotel tomatoes and chiles
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp chipotle powder
  • 2 cans pinto or light kidney beans
  • 1/4 cup masa (or corn meal)
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • Grated sharp cheese
  • Diced red onion
  • Small bags of Fritos


Preparation time 5mins
Cooking time 60mins


Step 1

Brown ground beef with garlic. Add tomato sauce, tomatoes and seasonings.

Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

Add drained, rinsed beans - stir to combine and cover and simmer 30 minutes.

Mix masa with water and add to chili. Stir to combine and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Slice Frito bags open lengthwise. Pile in chili and cheese and diced onion. Serve immediately. Yum!
