This is from my childhood friend's housekeeper,- Mrs. Smith. And yes she was from Scotland.

Ingredients
- 3 cups pastry flour
- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 1 cup sifted icing sugar
- 1 lb. butter

Cooking time 40mins
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter really well until soft and fluffy.
Combine other ingredients, add to butter gradually, mixing well between addtions.
Press into a 9"x13" pan.
Bake at 350 F until light golden brown, approx 25-30 minutes.
Optional: Prick with a fork when it comes out of the oven
Don't chill this dough before you press into the pan, it will break apart.
