Bread Pudding/ Just like Nanny's 0 Picture


  • 9 slices of bread cubed
  • 1 1/4 C sugar
  • 1 can evaporated milk (fat free works also)
  • 2 C milk (fat free works)
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/3 C melted butter
  • 1/4 C golden raisins
  • 1/4 t cinnamon



Step 1

Mix in order Milk (both) vanilla, cinnamon, sugar in lg bowl and stir. Beat egg yolks in and add raisins. Melt butter in a small container and pour into mix just before adding the bread. .
Fold in bread but not too much as you want the bread to stay in pieces. Pour into glass baking dish ASAP after mixing as to not make mush. I use the long glass baking dish so it's only about 1 inch thick.
Bake at 375 for 25 to 30 min. When it wiggles like jello it's done. Does not need to be dark brown on top but a small bit makes it looks nice.
Let cool and eat warm or refrigerate and eat cold, either way is good. Sauce is the vanilla sauce to pour over top just before serving. Not too much though.
