- 1 cup Dark brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Honey

- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups Half and half

Place butter in a cold medium saucepan and place over medium heat. When butter is completely melted, add brown sugar and honey and whisk the mixture over the heat until it is completely smooth. Remove from heat; pour mixture into the bottom of a 13x9 pan.
Arrange sliced bread on top of brown sugar mixture in a single layer- tight squeezes are okay!
In a medium bowl, beat eggs, half and half, vanilla and salt until completely blended. Pour egg mixture over bread in pan until completely covered.
Cover pan - refrigerate AT LEAST 1 hour, or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 f, bake uncovered 35-40 minutes or until tops of bread slices are turning golden and custard has formed. Yum!
