Coffee Cake- Streusel- make Christmas

I make this for every Christmas morning. Sometimes I cook it the night before, but I prefer it the morning of because of the smell it creates. Tastes great either way.

Ingredients

• Topping:
• ● 1 1/2 cup flour
• ● 3/4 cup sugar
• ● 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
• ● 3/4 tsp salt
• ● 1/4 cup shortening
• ● 3/4 cup milk
• ● 1 egg
• ● 1/2 cup brown sugar
• ● 2 tsp cinnamon
• ● 1/2 cup nuts, finely chopped (optional- I don't use)
• ● 2 tbsp butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375℉
1. Blend all. Beat vigorously with mixer for 30 seconds.
2. Spread half in greased square pan.
3. Mix topping
4. Sprinkle half topping mix over batter
5. Top with remaining batter, then remaining topping
6. Bake for 25-30 min. or til toothpick comes out clean

Note: If recipe is doubled, put in 9x13 pan and bake for about 40-45 min
