This is my receip that makes about 33 pound of quality fruitcake. I make this for people who does not like fruitcake, no bitter tast like you find in cheep fruitcakes.

Ingredients

  • 3 boxes white raisens
  • 8 pounds candied cherries = 1/2 green 1/2 red
  • 6 pounds candied pineapples
  • 6 pounds pecan halves
  • 4 pounds dates cut in half
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 3 cups butter flovored crisco
  • 8 1/4 cups sifted flour
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 4 1/2 cups eggs
  • 1 jar apple jelly [ small ]
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

Preparation

Step 1

In very large dish pan = mix all fruit and nuts. In mixer== mix well sugars. crisco and add eggs one at a time then add jelly. Combine = flour. baking powder and salt. alternate flour and milk mixing well .pour over fruit and mix well with hand .put in 4 tube pans , Bake 300 deg. for 3 hours. For 1 lb. loaf 1 hour and 15 minutes. For large loaf 2 hours and 20 minutes. Makes about 33 lb. fruitcake.
HALF RECIPE
1 1/2 boxes white raisens

3/4 cups milk
