Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 2 containers (15 oz. ea.) ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (about 8 oz.)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs
- 12 uncooked Mueller's Lasagne
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 12 ounces tomatoes
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt
- pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Brown hamburger, heat oil, add onion and garlic and saute 5 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients except noodles and cheese.
Add browned meat and 1/2 cup water, simmer uncovered 1 1/2 hours stirring occasionally.
Preheat oven to 375°.
Combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese and eggs in bowl; set aside.
Spread 1 cup Pasta Sauce in 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
Layer 4 uncooked Mueller's Lasagne, then 1 cup Sauce and 1/2 of the ricotta cheese mixture; repeat.
Top with remaining 4 uncooked noodles and 2 cups Sauce. Reserve remaining Sauce.
Bake 1 hour covered tightly with aluminum foil.
Remove foil and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Bake uncovered an additional 10 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Serve with remaining Sauce, heated.
