Jalapeno Pepper Jelly

Ingredients

  • 7 large jalapeno peppers (seeded & chopped)
  • 3 large red or green bell peppers (seeded & chopped)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 5 lbs sugar
  • 3 cups cider vinegar
  • 3 3 oz pkgs Certo or Sure Jell
  • 2-3 drops red or green food coloring

Preparation

Step 1

Using blender, process bell peppers & jalapeno peppers with water until smooth.

In a large saucepan, combine pepper mixture, sugar and vinegar.

Stir until sugar is dissolved .

Boil for 4 minutes, stirring & watching carefully (mixture boils over easily)

Remove from heat & stir in Certo or Sure Jell and food coloring.

Stir well until combined.

Pour into hot sterilized jars.

Seal and process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

Remove & allow to cool & seal.
