Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 cup celery (chopped fine)
  • 3/4 cup rice (uncooked)
  • 1/2 cup onion (chopped fine)
  • 2 - 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl, combine ground beef, celery, rice and onion; mix well. Form meat mixture into small balls and put into large skillet. Brown lightly and remove from heat. Add tomato sauce and water; cover skillet and return to medium heat. After 15 minutes, uncover and stir, continue cooking over low heat for 1 1/2 hrs. or until rice is falling out of the meatballs.
