Ingredients
- FRUIT MIXTURE
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 4 cups sliced fresh peaches (6 medium)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- DOUGH
- 3 tbsp shortening
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 400 degrees
DOUGH
Mix four, sugar, baking powder, and salt in medium bowl.
Cut shortening into flour mixture using pastry blender or crisscrossing 2 knives until mixture looks like fine crumbs.
Stir in milk. Place aside
FRUIT MIXTURE
Mix sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon in 2 quart sauce pan.
Stir in peaches and lemon juice.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Pour into ungreased 2 quart casserole dish.
Drop dough by 6 spoonfuls onto hot peach mixture
Bake 25-30 minutes or until topping turns golden brown
