Ingredients
- 3/4 C butter, softened (1 1/2 sticks)
- 1 C sugar
- 1 lg. egg
- 1/4 C molasses
- 2 C all purpose flour
- 2 t baking soda
- 1 t ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 t ground cloves
- 1/4 t salt
- 1 t vanilla
- sugar for rolling
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar in mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, molasses, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, vanill and salt. Dough will be soft. Turn out of bowl and wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate one hour.
Pre-heat oven to 375.
Form into walnut sized balls and roll in sugar.
Put on parchment paper or silpat and bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool on sheet for one minute and then transfer to cooling racks.
