Pear Butter

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch pears (washed do not peel)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1-3 cups sugar
  • 1 tblsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 teasp ground cloves

Preparation

Step 1

Wash pear, do not peel, slice and place in large pot.

Add 1 cup water to start cooking pears.

Cook until pears are very soft & tender.

Press through a collander.

For each cup of pulp add 1/2 cup sugar & spices.

Cook until paste stage, stirring frequently to prevent sticking or burning.

Spoon into pre-sterilized jars and seal while hot.
