Homemade Caramel Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Preparation

Step 1

Microwave cream in glass bowl on high for 30-40 seconds or until hot, set aside. Combne sugar, corn syrup and water in sauce pan. Cook over medium high heat 4-5 minutes or until sugar is melted, stirring occassionally using spoon. Reduce heat to low. Stir syrup until honey colored, remove pan from heat. Slowly add cream (mixture will bubble dramatically; stirring constatnly until smooth. Add vanilla and salt. Cool 5-10 minutes before serving
