Ingredients
- Cake batter
- Mini Donut Pan(s)
- Green candy melts
- Assorted sprinkles
- Airheads or Laffy Taffy or some type of pliable candy
- Lollipop sticks
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Spray mini donut tins with Bakers Spray (I tried normal nonstick spray but it didn’t work as well as I’d like…you really need the kind with flour in it).
Fill tins about 1/2 with batter and bake for about 8-10 minutes, until cake springs back when lightly touched. Let cakes cool in pans for a few minutes, then remove to a cooling rack until completely cool
Melt Candy Melts according to package directions. Attach lollipop sticks the the back of the donuts and let set. To speed up setting time, I placed mine in the freezer for about five minutes.
While the candy is setting up, make your bows:
Cut the candy into strips (I used Airheads) and cut those strips into about 1 1/2 inch pieces. Pull the ends of the piece into the center to form a bow shape. Attach another small strip over where the ends meet in the center. You’ve got a bow!! If your candy isn’t pliable enough and cracks a lot, place it in the microwave for a few seconds.
Once the sticks are firmly attached to the donuts, dip the front of the wreaths in the green candy. Immediately sprinkle with sanding sugar, green nonpareils, etc and attach a bow. Place back in the freezer for a few minutes to set.
