Ingredients

  • CARAMELIZE:
  • 1-1/2 cup sugar and pour at once in 12-inch round pan and 2 Tbsps melted butter
  • STRAIN:
  • 1 can sliced pineapple and decorate in and together with the prunes or cherries
  • PREPARE:
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Mix together and set aside
  • BUTTER CAKE:
  • 3/4 cup fresh butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1-1/2 cup cake flour ] Mix together and
  • 3-1/2 tsps Baking Powder ] sift once
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup diluted milk (1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup water)

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar.

Add egg yolk one at a time beating well after each addition.

Fold dry ingredients alternately with diluted milk.


MERENGUE:

3 egg whites
1/4 cup sugar

Beat white till soft peak. Add sugar gradually and beat till stiff peak. Pour on batter and fold.

Pour prepared juice at once on top of caramelized sugar and decorate with the sliced pineapple and pour batter immediately and bake at 300 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. (Bottom rack)
