Overnight French Toast

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1 T orange juice
  • 1 1/2 t sugar
  • 1/8 t salt
  • 1/2 t ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 t vanilla extract
  • 6 (3/4in thick) slices French bread
  • 2 T butter or margarine, divided
  • Powdered sugar



Step 1

Combine first 7 ingredients; beat well, set aside.

Place bread in a single layer in a shallow dish. Pour egg mixture over bread; turn slices to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours.

Melt 1 T butter in a large skillet; arrange 3 slices of bread in skillet, and cook 3 minutes on each side or until browned. Repeat procedure with remaining butter and bread slices. Sprinkle toast with powdered sugar
