Ingredients
- 6 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 4 cups cubed cooked ham
- 1 cup thinly sliced onions, separated into rings
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 cups milk
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation
Step 1
heat oven to 350 degrees. in 13 x 9 baking pan, layer potatoes, ham and onions. in 2 qt saucepan, melt butter until sizzling. stir in flour, mustard and pepper. cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly(1 minute) add milk. continue cooking, stirring often, until sauce is thickened(2-3 minutes) stir in cheese until melted(3-4 min) pour sauce over potatoes. bake uncovered for 60-75 minutes until bubbly and potatoes are fork tender.
