cup vegetable shortening
cup unsalted butter, softened
4 to 4½
cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
teaspoon vanilla extract
Beat shortening and butter in bowl of an electric mixer on low speed until completely blended. Combine sugar and salt in large bowl. Add half of the sugar mixture to the shortening mixture beating just until incorporated. Beat in remaining sugar with the milk, vanilla, and coloring. Do not over mix.
