Ingredients
- Garnishes:
- 1 pound boneless chicken, skinned and cubed
- 1 teaspoon crushed fresh root ginger
- 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup plain low-fat yogurt
- 4 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 tablespoon oil
- minced salad leaves
- 1 small onion cut into rings
- Lime wedges
- fresh cilantro
Preparation
Step 1
1. In a medium bowl, mix together the chicken pieces, ginger, garlic, chili powder, turmeric, and salt.
2. Stir in the yogurt, lemon juice and fresh cilantro and leave to marinate for at least 2 hours.
3. Place in a grill (broiler) pan or in a flameproof dish lined with foil and baste with oil.
4. Preheat the grill (broiler) to medium. Grill (broil) the chicken for 15-20 minutes until cooked, turning and basting several times. Serve on a bed of mixed salad leaves, garnish with onion rings, lime wedges and cilantro.
