Ingredients

    turnip, peeled

  • ¼

    cup margarine

  • ¼

    cup flour

  • 1

    tsp baking powder

  • 2

    egg yolks (separate and reserve whites)

  • 1

    tsp brown sugar

Directions

Cook turnip until soft, then mash mix margarine, flour, baking powder, brown sugar and turnip. Mix in egg yolks and stir quickly Let cool for 45-60 minutes Beat egg whites until stiff Fold into cooled turnip mixture Pour into buttered casserole dish Sprinkle with buttered bread crumbs Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or longer
