Ingredients

  • 1/2 CUP CHOPPED ONION
  • 1 CLOVE GARLIC CHOPPED
  • 3 CUPS HEAD CABBAGE CUT IN 1 INCH PIECES
  • 1 CUP RED BEANS. KIDNEY OR PINTO.(IF CANNED DRAIN WELL AFTER RINSING.
  • 1 CUP POTATOE CUT IN CUBES. yOU MAY ADD PIECES OF HAM OR SAUSAGE
  • 2 BOULLION CUBES FOR FLAVOR
  • 4 CUPS WATER
  • 1/2 CUP TOMATOE SAUCE
  • 2 CUPS RICE

Preparation

Step 1

COOK ONION AND GARLIC. ADD BOULION CUBE, CABBAGE AND TOM SAUCE. BOIL TILL CABBAGE SEEMS HALF DONE. ADD RICE, POTATOES AND BEANS. LET SIMMER ON VERY LOW HEAT AND STIR OFF AND ON TILL RICE IS COOKED. DO NOT OVER COOK OR POTATOES WILL BE MASHED AND MUSHEY!

RICE SHOULD BE DRY NOT TO WET BUT HOLD TOGETHER. NOT SOFT!
