Ingredients
- 1 small brie/camenbert cheese
- 1 pear
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry
Preparation
Step 1
FILLING
Peel, core and quarter 1 firm pear.
Slice pear quarters into 1/2 "thick slices
Melt butter in a frying pan.
Add pear slices and saute over medium heat til pears are slightly soft.
Add brown sugar and stir till caramelized (about 2 min)
Add cranberries and heat thru.
Remove from heat and cool.
Thaw puff pastry.
Slice cheese in half lengthwise with a hot sharp knife.
Place bottom half of cheese on pastry sheet.
Pour 1/2 of pear mixture over cheese.
Place top half of cheese on pear mixture.
Pour remaining pear mixture over top of cheese.
Mix 1 egg with 3 tbsp water.
Brush egg wash on edges of pastry.
Fold pastry over top of cheese and seal edges.
Turn pastry enclosed cheese over onto a parchment covered cookie sheet or place in a brie baker.
Brush pastry with egg wash.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
