Ingredients
- 2 mediums tart apples , peel, core and cut into quarters
- 1 (8-ounce) tube refrigerated crescent roll
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter , or margarine
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°
Unroll crescent rolls and separate each.
Wrap a slice of apple in each present roll.
Place seam side down in a 8x8x2 baking dish.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
In a medium saucepan stir together orange juice, sugar, butter and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Pour liquid over dumplings.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Spoon juice over present rolls every 10 minutes.
Cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Rolls should be light brown.
