Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 3/4 cup grape jelly
- 1 (10oz) pkg peanut butter pieces (1 2/3 cups)
Preparation
Step 1
1. Grease a 9x9" baking pan; set aside.
2. In a large bowl stir together the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add egg; mix well. Remove and reserve half of the crumb mixture (about 1 1/2 cups). Press remaining crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
3. Spread jelly evenly over the crust. Sprinkle with 1 cup of the peanut butter pieces. Stir together the reserved crumb mixture and the remaining peanut butter pieces. Sprinkle over over top, pressing lightly.
4. Bake in a 350F oven for 25-30 mins or until lightly browned. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
