Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (4-oz) can sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbs brown sugar
- 2 tsp prepared mustard
- 1/3-1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 Tbs worcestershire
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.
Saute onion and garlic in butter for 3 minutes, add mushrooms and green pepper and saute for another 3 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the beef, egg, onion mixture, milk and bread crumbs. Season with salt and pepper to taste and place in a lightly greased 5x9 inch baking dish, or form into a loaf and place in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, mustard, ketchup and worcestershire. Mix well and pour 1/2 over the meatloaf.
Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hour. 15 minutes before meatloaf is done, pour remaining ketchup mixture over meatloaf and finish cooking.
