hungarian nut torte

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen eggs(separated)
  • pinch salt
  • 3/4 -1 cup sugar
  • dry bread crumbs
  • vanilla
  • nuts

Preparation

Step 1

beat eggs until stiff, add sugar gradually, beating constantly, until mixture is so stiff you can turn the bowl sideways without the mixture moving, beat yolks until thick and lemon colored. add to whites mixture and mix with mixer at low speed. add dry bread crumbs and vanilla and fold these in gently by hand. lastly fold in the nuts(reserving approximately 3 tbsp to be sprinkled over the frosting)

pour into 3 well-greased and floured 9 inch cake pans.

bake 350-25 minutes
