Ingredients
- 1 Cup Butter
- 1 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 3 1/2 Cups Flour (sifted)
- 2 tsp. Cream of Tartar
- 1 tsp. Soda
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter. Add sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Chill thoroughly (3 - 4 hours or overnight). Roll on well floured surface 1/8" - 1/4" thick. Cut in desired shapes. Bake in moderate oven (375°) 6 - 8 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Cool slightly on cookie sheet, finish cooling on rack.
