Place the beef into a 5-quart slow cooker. Add the brown sugar, garlic, thyme and flour and toss to coat. Pour the soup and ale over the beef mixture.

Very easy recipe. Just mixed the simple ingredients together in the slow cooker and forget it until dinner time. My whole house was permeated with the aroma. My kids and husband come home smell the food and cannot wait to eat it. The meat was so tender. Except short rib is very high in fat. I think I will try a leaner meat next time. Thanks, Campbell for the recipe.

My husband loved this. I used what I had available. Used beef ribs, a can of beef broth, package of dry onion soup mix and a can of Miller Lite. Cooked on high for 4 hours in slow cooker. After skimming the fat off I thickened with flour and water for gravey. Wonderful. Will make this again soon.

It turned out really good. I added Bud Light everyone loved it!
