Date Pinwheels

Ingredients

• Filling:
• 2 1/4 C chopped dates
• 1 C sugar
• 1 C water
• Cook 10 min, cool and add 1 C chopped walnuts
• Dough:
• 2 C B sugar
• 4 C flour
• 1/2 tsp B soda
• 1 C shortening
• 3 eggs
• 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs i at a time while creaming.
Divide dough in 2 balls and roll 1/4" thick. Spread filling over dough and roll like jelly roll. Chill overnight and cut slices.
Bake 350 10-12 min
