Tortilla Cheese Flats*

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, minced
  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 3 C Monterey Jack cheese, grated
  • ripe olives, wedged
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram
  • 4 oz diced green chiles
  • minced parsley
  • cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 avocado, sliced

Preparation

Step 1

Mix tomato sauce with pepper, oregano and marjoram. Place 1 tortilla in well-greased 2 qt round baking dish. Layer with 1/4 chiles, 1/4 sauce mixture and 1/4 cheese. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 minutes, or until heated through. Invert onto flat plate. Sprinkle with minced parsley. Garnish with tomatoes, olives, avocado and cheese.
