Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup91 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine
- 1 can(5oz) evaporated milk(about 2/3 cup)
- 1 pkg(12oz) semi-sweet chocolate chunks
- 1 jar(7oz) marshmallow creme
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
place sugar, butter and evaporated milk in 3 qt heavy saucepan. bring to full rolling boil on medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil about 4 minutes or until candy thermometer reaches 234, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. remove from heat.
add chocolate chunks and marshmallow creme, stir until melted. add walnuts and vanilla;mix well.
pour immediately into foil-lined 9 inch square pans, spread to evenly cover bottom of pan. cool at room temperature at least 2 hours, cut into squares(1 inch) store in airtight container at room temperature.
makes 40 servings
** if you don't have a candy thermometer, bring sugar mixture to full rolling boil, then begin timing 4 minutes while mixture continues to boil on medium heat, stirring constantly.
