Ingredients
- 2 Cups Flour (sifted)
- 1 tsp. Soda
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 2 Eggs (unbeaten)
- 1/3 Cup Milk (sweet or sour)
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 2 Cups Quick Cooking Oatmeal
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar (firmly packed)
- 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 Cup Shortening (soft)
- 3/4 Cup Nutmeats (chopped)
Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon together. Add alternately with milk. Add oatmeal. Mix in nuts. (If desired you may add 1 cup raisins or chopped dates, or 2 cups chocolate chips.) Bake at 375° for 12 minutes.
