Ingredients

  • 5

    lbs (14-16C) flour

  • 4

    pkg yeast

  • 1

    C warm water

  • 3

    C scalded milk

  • 2⅛

    C melted margerine

  • 1½-2

    C sugar

  • 3

    t salt

  • 4

    eggs

  • 1

    lb currents

  • 1

    lb raisins

  • ½

    lb citron

  • ½

    lb finely chopped almonds

  • butter

  • confectioners sugar

Directions

Make a dough from first 4 ingredients: put flour in large container and make a dent. Dissolve yeast in water and add to lukewarm milk. Put into dent stirring to gradually add flour to make a 'brie'. Rise for 30min. Add second set of 4 ingredients and knead. Add fruit and nuts. Knead. Let rise til double. Punch down, cut and shape, and put on greased and dusted cookie sheet. Rise to double, 1/2 to 3/4 hrs. Bake at 350* 1/2hr - 3/4hr. Brush w/ melted butter and sprinkle with confectioners sugar
