christmas cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla or 3 drops anise oil
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 eggs

Preparation

Step 1

cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Add flour and mix by hand until moistened. In another bowl, combine soda, vanilla, and sour cream. Mix into flour mixture. Keep adding flour, a little at a time. Shape into a ball. Roll out some dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into shapes. Place on greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes or until slightly brown. When cooled, frost and decorate with colored sugar. Unfrosted cookies must be kept in an air-tight container.
