Ingredients
- 1/2 C. (1 stick) butter softened
- 1/2 C. sugar
- 1/2 C. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 Tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 C. all purpose flour
- 1/2 Tsp. salt
- 1/2 Tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 Tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 C. rolled oats
- 1 1/4 C. chocolate chunks
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven 350. Lightly grease two large baking sheets.
Combine butter, white and brown sugar in large bowl. Beat with wooden spoon or electric mixer. Mix until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla extract. Set aside.
Sift flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda into small bowl. Add flour mixture to butter mixture. Beat continuously. Stir in oats and chocolate chunks.
Spoon tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake until lightly browned, 8-10 minutes. Cool for 1 minute before transferring to wire racks.
Use semisweet, milk, or white chocolate or combination of all three for the chocolate chunks.
