Cinnamon Glazed Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

  • FOR THE GLAZE:
  • 3 cup oatmeal, old fashioned
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

1. For the cookies, combine oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in a bowl and mix well. Beat the butter and both sugars in a mixing bowl till creamy, scraping the bowl occasionally. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat till blended. Add the dry ingredient mixture and beat till combined. Stir in Pecans.

2. Drop by rounded tablespoonful onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Cool on the cookie sheet about 1 minute. Remove from cookie sheet to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

3. For the glaze, combine all ingredients in a bowl until of glaze consistence. Tint with food color if desired. Drizzle the glaze over cooled cookies. Let stand till set.
