Italian Meatball COOKIES, YES COOKIES

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cups sugar
  • 1 cups cocoa
  • 1/2 TBS baking soda
  • 1/2 TBS nutmeg
  • 1 TBS cinnamon
  • 1/2 TBS cloves
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 sticks oleo (butter or lard)
  • 1 cups raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • Chocolate Fudge Frosting (aka SAUCE!)
  • YOU WILL HAVE EXTRA FROSTING
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup shortening (butter)
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix the dry ingredients together: Flour, sugar, cocoa, soda, spices.

Put the egg in a cup and pour the milk over it to make 1 cups Melt the oleo (butter or whatever you’re using). Mix well with the dry ingredients.

Add the raisins and nuts. Mix well and roll into 3/4 inch to 1 inch balls. Bake for 8 – 10 minutes. Do not over bake. 9 minutes to be safe.

Chocolate Fudge Frosting:
Bring water to a boil, remove from heat and stir in shortening and corn syrup. Add the sugar, cocoa, salt and vanilla. Mix completely until smooth.

Dip the cooled cookies into the frosting.
