Ingredients

  • 3

    cups flour (minus 3 Tablespoons)

  • 6

    Tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 2

    cups sugar

  • 2

    tsp baking soda

  • 1

    tsp salt

  • ¾

    cup vegetable oil

  • 2

    cups water

  • 2

    Tbs white vinegar

  • 1

    tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, combine all wet ingredients and add to dry ingredients. Mix with electric mixer until smooth. (Batter will be quite thin). --At this point, grease a 9x13 metal cake pan very well...UP THE SIDES TOO. Then dust the pan with cocoa powder. (If you used flour, the cake would be white on the edges). Pour batter into pan, and bake at 350 degrees for approx. 30-35 minutes. Poke it with a toothpick...if it's done, the toothpick will be clean.
