Chocolate truffles

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cups heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp. butter or margarine,cut into chinks
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. orange,almond,coffe or other liqueur(optional)
  • 2 pkgs.(4 oz. each) Bakers sweet chocolate,broken into chunks
  • Unsweetened cocoa, coconut, or ground nuts

Preparation

Step 1

RANGE TOP:
-Bring cream,butter sugar to a full boil over medium heat,stirring constantly
-Remove from heat
-Add liqueur and chocolate;stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth
-Chill until firm enough to handle,about 3 1/2 hrs
-shape into 1 inch balls
-Roll in cocoa,coconut or nuts
-Store covered in refrigerator


MICROWAVE:
-Mix together cream,butter,and sugar in 1 1/2 quart microwavable bowl
-Heat high 1 1/2 min
-Stir well;cook 1 1/2 min longer or until mixture comes to a full boil
-Continue as directed above
