Grandma's Scalloped Cabbage

  • 5 C cooked cabbage, drain well,
  • 1/2 C buttered bread crumbs
  • White Sauce
  • 3 T butter
  • 2 T flour
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 C milk
  • 1/2 C cheese, shredded


Cooking time 30mins


Step 1

Place cabbage in buttered 2-quart casserole. Pour white sauce over cabbage and top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.

White Sauce
In saucepan melt butter. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Add milk, then cook and stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly. Stir in cheese and cook until cheese melts.
