Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  • Olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup diced green pepper
  • 1 # ground beef
  • 1 # Italian sausage
  • 3 T. soy sauce
  • 3 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. ground oregano
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 T. dried minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 T. Italian seasoning
  • 30 oz. tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce
  • 12 oz. can tomato paste
  • 3 dashes Tabasco or Texas Pete
  • water
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Preparation

Step 1

Pour in enough olive oil to cover bottom of large sauce pot.

Warm chopped onions and peppers in pot over low heat.

Put in ground beef and sausage, pulled apart. Raise head and brown meat well. Add soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Stirl until meat is fully browned.

Measure out oregano, black pepper,chili powder, salt, garlic and Italian seasoning into a small bowl. Stir into browned meat until well mixed.

Add tomato or spaghetti sauce and tomato paste, then add 2 tomato paste cans of water. Stir until well mixed. Add Tabasco and Parmesan cheese and stir well.

Allow sauce to simmer partially covered over low heat for 1 hour until sauce thickens.
