Ingredients
- Seasonings:
- 2 lb Ground Beef (or ground turkey) as lean as you prefer
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 white onion, diced
- 1 15oz can of corn (do not drain)
- 3 15oz cans of beans (I used pinto, kidney, and great northern, but any 3 will do!), drained and rinsed
- 2 15oz cans of crushed tomatoes
- 4 Tbsp tomato paste
- 1 can of water
- 1 Snickers Bar, regular sized (or any type of caramel/chocolate bar if there is a peanut allergy)
- 1 1/2 tsp salt (reserve 1/2 tsp)
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
Preparation
Step 1
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet on medium heat on the stove, add the garlic to the pan and cook it with the ground beef.
Meanwhile, dice the onion and put it in the slow cooker. Add the ground beef and garlic on the top.
Add all the contents of the cans to the slow cooker, and then fill one of the empty tomato cans with water and add that to the slow cooker. Add all of the remaining ingredients and seasonings (only 1 tsp of the salt). Stir.
Cook on low for 7-9 hours. Taste and add the reserved salt if needed.
Serve with sour cream and cheese.
